Factors associated with the quality of life of mothers of patients with Autism Spectrum Disorder

Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) is defined as a syndrome that interferes with neurodevelopment. Considered chronic disorder, it requires special care from mothers and may compromise their quality of life. This study aimed to evaluate the factors associated health-related life ASD children. cross-sectional, descriptive, analytical study. An instrument developed by authors was used assess mother's sociodemographic variables related child's health WHOQOL-Bref mothers' 77 participated in Most were between 30 45 years old (60.6%), white (61.04%), had completed high school (52.9%). Concerning children, 37.7% 5 10 old, most without physical limitations (93.55%) male (77.92%). There an association lowest score domain sex child (p=0.046); variable single marital status lower scores psychological domains (p=0049) social relationships (p=0.025). It concluded support measures are necessary improve physical, psychological, autistic especially those who do not have spouse.
